The Sungard Addvantage accounting system allows the finance department and the CEO to upload new data from an Excel spreadsheet without checks and balances from operation. This allows the Zodiac to by-pass regulations, regulators (OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve), while laying siege to family members. Sungard’s accounting system was used by the Zodiac’s bank’s custodial and trading operations between 2002-2016. The bank requested to merge with another wealth management firm, despite having knowledge of “white collar crimes.”
